SHAURYA

Shaurya Shaurya is the annual inter-collegiate sports meet of IIT Kharagpur. Conceptualized in 2008, the first edition of the meet surpassed all expectations and witnessed huge participation from many colleges in the region. It is at present the largest sports meet of the region and aims to be the largest in the country in the coming years.

In its second edition, Shaurya had exponential growth. From a simple sports meet at its inception, it turned into a extravaganza of sorts, something for the whole of IIT Kharagpur to cheer about. It grew to 8 sports for boys and 3 sports for girls from 5 sports for boys the year before.

Shaurya 2010 offers a platform for students from all over India to showcase their talent and compete with the best upcoming young sportsmen in the country amidst a highly charged and competitive atmosphere and highly equipped sports facilities. A congregation of this magnitude requires a vast and diverse infrastructure, and that is the reason why IIT Kharagpur alone can take the onus of organizing Shaurya.
